Desciende la SST por lo que NIDA va a ir debilitándose poco a poco. Se va a ir metiendo en aguas más frías, menores a los 26ºC. Ahora mismo se encuentra en aguas de 28ºC y mantiene la categoría 4.

Aunque hay que recordar que la rafaga de viento mayor jamas medida en un huracan corresponte al huracan Gustav en Cuba con 340 km/h. Siendo el viento más fuerte del que se tiene registro hasta ahora corresponde a una tormenta invernal en New Hampshire (EE.UU.), en 1934, que dejó rachas de 369,6 km/h.

Se encuentra en aguas más frías, de unos 23-26ºC. La cizalladura de 20 kt hace que se desorganice bastante. Más al norte, la cizalladura aumenta casi en 20 Kts, por lo que el tifón seguirá perdiendo fuerza.
